How We Are Helping

Newsday Charities launched the Long Island COVID-19 Relief Fund on May 10, 2020 to help those Long Islanders most impacted by the virus. Our initial goal was $250,000. Within six weeks, thanks to the many generous Long Islanders who donated, we have exceeded our goal. In order to meet the increasing and future need of our neighbors, we are continuing to accept funds and have increased our goal to $350,000.

Below is a list of the organizations that have already received grants through the Newsday Charities Long Island COVID-19 Relief Fund:

MAY 2020 – HUNGER
Island Harvest Food Bank – $21,000
Long Island Cares – $21,000

JUNE 2020
An additional five agency grants are currently under review in the hunger category.

This list will be updated as grant applications are approved and funding is distributed. Please check back regularly for more information.
